This workshop is the first of two that are primarily aimed at any coach wishing to further their knowledge of physical training. Whilst most gains for any climber will be found by developing their technique, tactics and mental approach, this workshop addresses how to create performance adaptation through physical training.
In terms of the LTPD model (Long Term Participant Development) covered in FUNdamentals 1, this course moves away from the ‘Fundamentals stage’ onto the ‘Learning to Train stage’. However this course covers the basic information required for a coach to have a fundamental understanding of the science behind, and practical application of, physical training.
The main topics covered are:
1st October 2017 at Transition Extreme, Aberdeen. Provider: Duncan Paterson
6th December 2017 at EICA Ratho. Providers: Mike Mullins and Robert Mackenzie
21st January 2018 at TCA Glasgow. Provider: Stuart Lyall
Glenmore Lodge is also running two Physical Training 1 courses, which will be held on 23rd October and 19th November 2017. These should be booked directly with Glenmore Lodge.
The workshops are £80 for Mountaineering Scotland members / £95pp (non-members) / £60pp for host climbing wall staff
