Regional Development Officer - ClimbScotland
Salary £24.5k to £28.6k plus benefits
With a growing membership of over 14,000 members, Mountaineering Scotland is the national governing body for indoor (sport) climbing, and the national representative organisation for mountaineers, hill walkers, climbers and ski-tourers.
The ClimbScotland programme supports and develops indoor climbing, including related activities and competitions, for the age group 7 to 24. Since its launch 2015, ClimbScotland has recruited 40+ partner organisations and clubs which now offer climbing and development opportunities for over 1000 young climbers. We organise and deliver an exciting range of climbing competitions and events which attracted record entries over the last year.
We are seeking a suitable candidate for the post of Regional Development Officer. The location is flexible within the Central Belt / Tayside, and your responsibilities will focus on maintaining the progress we’ve made, and the sustainable development of youth climbing on your territory in the east of Scotland.
The role requires a range of skills and experience. You will act as an ambassador for Mountaineering Scotland and the sport of climbing, and you should be an active climber with the ability to communicate with, support and inspire young people, their parents and volunteers, and to impart technical knowledge. You should also be able to demonstrate experience of delivery and knowledge of working practices gained in a climbing wall environment.
