Mountaineering Scotland, in partnership with Richard Bentley from Mountain Motion, is offering club and individual members the opportunity to participate in a Summer Mountain Leader Training Course, at a special discounted rate.
This MTS award is for members who are currently involved or keen to become involved in leading hill-walking parties in mountainous terrain in summer conditions. A two-day overnight camping expedition is part of this course.

Please note that in order to participate in this course you must have registered with Mountain Training Scotland prior to the start of the course.
Our most demanding courses. A very high level of fitness is required over many hours. Rough terrain and hostile weather conditions will be encountered. You will be required to carry safety specific equipment which will make your rucksack significantly heavier than it is for summer day hikes.
Max distance 15km, max ascent 1000m per day.

This is a six-day course in two three-day modules. Both modules are based at Mill Cottage, Feshiebridge.
£335 per person, this price includes accommodation at Mill Cottage.
