Mountaineering Scotland is committed to working with a range of organisations to
help us achieve our goals, whether in sharing safety and skills knowledge or campaigning on access and conservation issues. Working together on a number of initiatives where we have common aims enables us to support one another and increase all our effectiveness.
Some of our current partner organisations are as follows:
Glenmore Lodge is sportscotland’s National outdoor Training Centre. Based in the Cairngorms National Park, we offer training in outdoor adventure sports. This is both through personal skills courses, providing individuals with the confidence to enjoy their sport themselves, and qualification courses, ensuring that the next generation of outdoor instructors are trained to the highest possible standards. So if you want to learn the skills to scramble in the high mountains, or are keen to brush up on your navigation, we can help you out.
The SMT is a Scottish charity that provides grants to projects and organisations that promote public recreation, knowledge and safe enjoyment of the mountain amenities, especially in the mountains of Scotland.
The Trust are very pleased to have been able to support the work done by Mountaineering Scotland, particularly on mountain skills training and improving access to the mountains, over the last 50 years.
In addition to helping Mountaineering Scotland, the SMT supports:
Our work is financed by donations from individuals and organisations who share our values, and from the publication, by the Scottish Mountaineering Press, of guidebooks for the SMC other books connected with the Scottish Hills.
Snowsport Scotland is the Scottish Governing Body (SGB) for all snowsports in Scotland, and our role is encouraging more participation in snowsports and to develop and support our best athletes to perform on the world stage.
As with all sport, Snowsports means different things to different people, and everyone has their own reasons why they are involved. Our role is to make sure that what we are doing as an organisation fulfils the ‘why’ of our community.
Mountain Training is the collection of awarding bodies for skills courses and qualifications in walking, climbing and mountaineering in the UK and Ireland.
Our Vision: A diverse and active outdoor society, supported by inspirational leaders, instructors and coaches.
Our Mission: To inspire, enable and develop people in walking, climbing and mountaineering through the provision of nationally and internationally recognised skills training and leadership qualifications.
The original premise of the founding directors was to make the best possible equipment at the best price - a goal that has remained central to DMM's thinking over the years, and which has spurred them on to continue to develop and innovate, to bring unique and world leading products to the market.
We recognise that it’s not sufficient to stand still and copy, we need to lead the field in our specialist areas and over the years we have done just that and all from our base here in north Wales. We have a well trained and loyal workforce and have amassed a wealth of knowledge over the years which stands us in good stead as one of the leading brands in our field worldwide.
