Intro to scrambling course

Navigation

Our one-day navigation courses are run from a number of locations throughout the summer months, teaching the essential basics for finding our way around the mountains.

Mountain and hill skills

New for 2026, we've launched two Mountain Training Certified skills courses. Ideal for those wanting to learn essential skills and build confidence in the mountain environment.

Scrambling

We have two scrambling courses available for different experiences. Gain confidence and develop skills in steep ground and scrambles, and decision-making in a safe and supportive environment.

Climber self-rescue

Learn the fundamentals that a trad rock climber might need to carry out a basic rescue of the climbing second or escape the system to go and get help.

Mountain Rescue - behind the scenes

Join this interactive session to discover who mountain rescue volunteers are, their vital role in the Scottish mountains, and how rescue operations unfold.

Under 18s hill skills

Learn more about hiking in the hills, including fundamentals of navigation, route planning, what to pack, hazards, emergencies and how to look after yourself.

Ready to Rock

Learn the skills and confidence to experience Scotland's outdoors in a whole new way! These adult rock climbing courses cover introductions, sport climbing and trad climbing, catering for beginners through to more experienced climbers and everything in-between.

RealRock (U18s)

RealRock sessions are run by our ClimbScotland team to support young people aged 8-18 years old in the transition from indoor to outdoor climbing. Get access to professional climbing instructors who will give advice on techniques and equipment, along with the confidence to make those first moves on rock.

Women's Only Courses

Our Women’s Ready to Rock courses are designed to help women transition from indoor climbing to real rock in a supportive, female-led environment. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to develop trad or sport climbing skills, these courses provide expert instruction in stunning outdoor locations.
