A mountain skills weekend bookended by yoga!
Being proficient in the Scottish mountains in summer conditions is of course much more than just the ability to navigate well - although navigation is one of the crucial elements of safe travel in the mountains. These weekend courses go a step further than the basic navigation skills to introduce valuable skills to members who regularly visit the summer mountains and who wish to develop their abilities to become safer and more proficient.
We'll also add yoga to the mix, with a qualified yoga instructor.
Due to the ever-changing COVID situation, bookings are currently open for courses until the end of June 2021.
Booking for courses in July and August will open in early May - please check this page and our social media channels for updates.
This weekend course comprises two days of instruction and two nights self-catering accommodation. It will include all the following aspects to ensure safe and enjoyable days on the hill.
Long days hill walking and climbing can also be arduous on the body, so for the first time we are adding yoga to the mix in our mountain skills weekend this year. On each day of the weekend Anna (www.annabeatayoga.com) will lead a morning outdoor vinyasa flow, to awaken and prepare body and mind for the physical and mental activity ahead. And when we're back at base on the Saturday late afternoon, a yin and deep release session focused on promoting deep muscle and joint release and physical and mental restoration.
New to yoga? Don't worry! Anna specialises in introducing newbies to the practice and the sessions will be fun, informal and accessible with lots of options given. Get ready to move, breathe and stretch in the most beautiful environment at Glen Cova.
Yoga mats will be provided.
