Senior Mountain Safety Advisor with Mountaineering Scotland (Part- Time)
This post presents an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join the well respected and high-profile Mountain Safety team at Mountaineering Scotland. The post will attract either a WMCI or IFMGA Guide with substantial knowledge of the Scottish Mountains, mountain safety training and education, as well as a keen interest in strategic issues related to the promotion of Mountain Safety.
The Senior Mountain Safety Advisor will take a key role in managing the delivery of our Mountain Safety training programme working closely with the Mountain Safety Advisory team. The post will involve some mountain skills course delivery, however the primary focus will be on leading the team and working strategically to support Mountaineering Scotland and the Mountain Safety Group, helping to co-ordinate the promotion of mountain safety in Scotland across a range of partner organisations.
This post is being advertised as permanent part-time position which equates to a 0.6 FTE contract (Approx. 133 days per annum). The duties of the post will require the employee to work an unspecified number of irregular hours including some evening and weekend work.
