Vacancy for new director

Friday 31st August 2018, 3:11pm

Mountaineering Scotland is looking for a new Director to take responsibility for Access and Conservation issues.

The vacancy arises through the resignation of the current Director, Chris Todd.

Working closely with our Access and Conservation Officer, the successful candidate will help shape our policy and strategy in these two important areas with the opportunity to work with a diverse range of stakeholders and organisations that share our interests.

The perceived natural and wild qualities of the uplands are very important to a large percentage of Mountaineering Scotland members and as a result we are in the process of producing a conservation policy which will help inform our future commitment to this important agenda. Scotland also enjoys some of the most progressive access legislation in Europe and this role is critical in ensuing that we protect these rights across Scotland and particularly in our mountain and upland areas.

Anyone who is interested in the role should contact Mountaineering Scotland within the next fortnight – before 14 September – in advance of the 2018 Annual General Meeting in November.

Further information is available here if you are interested in this role.
