Vacancy for a Vice-President

Monday 26th March 2018, 3:12pm

We’re recruiting for a Vice-President who could become the next President of Mountaineering Scotland.

Our President, Mike Watson, will demit office at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in 2019 at the end of his term and in order to plan for succession we wish to recruit a Vice-President now, to shadow Mike over the medium term.

We anticipate the successful candidate for Vice-President will be co-opted to the Board this summer and first stand for election as a director at the 2018 AGM on Saturday 24 November.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for mountaineering and the outdoors and offers potential for the development of new and existing skills, meeting new people, developing new networks and making a genuine difference to mountaineering in Scotland.

Ideally, we would like interested candidates to attend and observe the next board meetings on 17 May and 30 August 2018 in Perth. The closing date for expressions of interest is Friday 27 April 2018.
