Rep sought for GB Development Squad

Mountaineering Scotland is looking for an experienced climbing coach to act as our representative on the GB National Development Squad.

The applicant will represent us in the selection process and will act as a coach to the members of the squad.

They should be able to attend the selection event on 16th – 18th November and weekend training events every month from January to April 2019. These will be based mainly in England so the successful applicant should be willing to travel.

We need someone who has personal experience of competition climbing, has a minimum of a Development Coach Award and has experience coaching young climbers over several years to elite level. They must be resident in the UK, members of the PVG Scheme (Scottish Child Protection) and have excellent communication skills and able to write feedback reports and contribute to the management of the GB National Squad.

They should also have a commitment to act as GB Team coaches and accompany Team members on at least two international competitions. This latter is a volunteer role.

The position is for three years starting in October 2018 and concluding October 2021, for 12.5 days per year at a remuneration of £180/day plus expenses.
