New Fund To Help Female Climbers

Sunday 9th March 2025, 1:29pm

A new fund has been launched to help train the next generation of female climbing instructors. The Pinnacle Club Centenary Fund will give grants to women from diverse backgrounds, to help them achieve awards such as Rock Climbing Instructor (RCI), Mountain Leader (ML) or Mountaineering & Climbing Instructor (MCI).

Women from diverse backgrounds, who are traditionally under-represented in the climbing community, are invited to apply for grants towards the costs of training, skills development or assessment courses.

The Pinnacle Club was founded in 1921 to encourage the development of rock climbing and mountaineering amongst women. The fund, a legacy of the club’s centenary, aims to support women from under-represented groups into outdoor leadership, where they can have an influence as role models.
