Wednesday 13th December 2017, 2:05pm

Chief Executive Officer - Perth

Package circa £42-50k

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right person to lead Mountaineering Scotland, the national representative body for hill walkers, climbers and snowsport tourers in Scotland. The post of Chief Executive Officer will become vacant with the forthcoming retirement of the present incumbent, David Gibson.

With a growing membership of 14,000, Mountaineering Scotland has an ambitious mission: to act as the voice of a diverse and active community which benefits from membership, and to encourage mountaineering participation and sporting achievement, valuing Scotland’s mountains as places of adventure, escape and natural wonder. We are seeking an experienced CEO to lead the organisation on this journey. We welcome and actively seek applications from individuals from all sectors of society.

The CEO is responsible for developing, and then implementing the organisation’s strategic and operational plans following consultation with the Board. The CEO is also responsible for all management decisions and acts as the direct liaison between the Board and staff, and as the organisation’s lead representative and spokesperson with stakeholders, external organisations and the media.

Applications for the post must be received by no later than 5pm on Monday 8th January, and interviews will be held in January.
