Mountaineering Scotland Coaching Seminar

Friday 19th October 2018, 9:12am

Mountaineering Scotland’s Coaching Seminar is being expanded for 2018 into a two-day event and will include several new topics.

The seminar will be held at Eden Rock, Edinburgh, on 22 and 23 November, with a choice of sessions and practical workshops on both days.

Day 1 will concentrate on the coaches, routes setters and providers of Mountaineering Scotland events (the academies, youth competitions and coaching workshops). It will include a review of all our activities, particularly the academies, and will look to what we can deliver in 2019. A Child Safeguarding Workshop is included for those yet to undertake this CPD module.

Day 2 is being run in partnership with the Association of British Climbing Walls (ABC) and is for wall owners, managers, instructors and coaches. It will be followed by the annual Scottish Climbing Wall Network (SCWN) meeting.

Both days have a choice of sessions, including practical workshops delivered by George McEwan (MTS), Alan Halewood (MIC), Pete Hill (MIC and RSA), Pete Langlands (TLC Coaching), John Kettle (Coach and MIC), David Monteith (Mountaineering Scotland Board), Mike Mullins (Eden Rock), Scott Haslam (ABC). Pete Nellist (ABCTT) and the ClimbScotland Team.

See the Schedule for details.

Lunch and evening meal is provided.

Cost for each day is £33 or a discounted price of £50 for both days.
