If you’ve ever wondered why there aren’t more questions about mountains in Mastermind or University Challenge, the Mountain Mind Quiz 2017 will be just up your street.
The annual test of mountaineers’ knowledge about mountains and those who climb them will be taking place in Dundee this time round, in the Glamis Room of the Queen’s Hotel, Nethergate, Dundee, on Wednesday 8th March.
It’ll be presented this year by The Breadalbane Rock and Ice Group, who have set all the questions.
The annual quiz for hillwalking and mountaineering clubs in the Tayside and Fife area is always hotly contested but seldom taken too seriously by participants in what is a popular social event.
Teams can be of up to three people, and a club can enter more than one team if they wish. The questions will all be illustrated and the quiz will be spread across three rounds, with a break between each round and all teams involved right to the end.
The Mountain Mind Trophy will go to the winning team, while the lowest scoring team will be presented with the rather less coveted ‘The Boot’.
The quiz is 7 for 7.30pm, with a charge of £3 per person at the door, including spectators.
Clubs are invited to let the organisers know if they will be attending, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
