Missing person appeal

Monday 2nd April 2018, 10:15am

Police have appealed to mountaineers and hillwalkers for information on a missing person from the Inverness area.

He is known to go walking and camping, and staying in bothies.

Brett Oliver was seen on the morning of 15th March, in the Rose Street area of Inverness, and since this story was first posted a confirmed sighting of him was reported at Gleann Dubh Lighe Bothy near Glen Finnan on 22 March. Efforts to trace him since then have been fruitless.

Lochaber and Skye are areas he is known to have visited before.

He is described as about 5ft 5in in height and of stocky build, with balding black hair and a short beard. His exact age is unknown although he has the appearance of being in his late 30s.

Brett habitually wears a waterproof jacket, outdoor trousers and a beanie hat.

Police are keen to ensure his wellbeing and urge anyone with information on his whereabouts, or who thinks they may have seen him, to contact police in Inverness on 101, using reference NN4283/18.

No photos of Brett are currently available.
