Are you a friendly, organised administrator who enjoys helping people and making systems run smoothly? Join Mountaineering Scotland and play a central role in supporting around 16,000 individual and club members across Scotland’s hill walking, climbing, mountaineering and ski touring community.

As our Membership Admin Officer, you will be one of the first people our members, clubs and the public speak to. You will provide excellent service by phone and email, keep membership records and payments accurate, support online bookings and events, help members and club committees use our JustGo membership system, and contribute to the smooth running of our Perth office.

  • Make a visible difference to a vibrant and growing outdoor community.
  • Work with a small, supportive team at Scotland’s national representative body for hill walkers, climbers and snowsports tourers.
  • Enjoy flexible working, with the team working from home on Fridays.
  • Receive 35.5 days’ paid annual leave, including public holidays, rising with service.
  • Benefit from employer pension contributions matched up to 6%, an Employee Assistance Programme and Cycle to Work scheme.
  • Access skills courses, learning and development opportunities, and exclusive money saving offers.

You will have experience in administration and/or customer service, clear and confident communication skills, and a calm, professional approach. You will be comfortable organising a varied workload, working accurately with data and using Microsoft Office, including Excel. Experience of a CRM or membership database is important; familiarity with JustGo is welcome but not essential. An active interest in outdoor activities in Scotland will help you connect with our members and our purpose.

If you can bring a combination of these skills and are excited by the role, we encourage you to apply.

Mountaineering Scotland promotes mountain skills, safety, access and the protection of Scotland’s mountain landscapes. We are also the national governing body for indoor climbing and encourage young people into the sport through the ClimbScotland initiative. This is an opportunity to use your administrative and people skills in an organisation with a clear purpose and a strong connection to Scotland’s outdoor community.

Read the full job description below and submit your application using the online application form. Please note CVs will not be accepted.

Application deadline: 12 noon Friday 4 September 2026

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 15 September at our office in Perth.
